Technology acquisition is the new number one driver of M&A pursuits according to the 2018 State of the Deal Report (Deloitte, 2017).

The Digital Media sector in the UK, as reported in 2017, was worth £2,701 billion with a growth rate of 17.5% since 2013 and a predicted further growth of 10% between 2017 and 2022 (Fame, IT Services in the UK, 2018).

The State of the Deal report also suggests that businesses have spending firepower and more companies say their cash levels have increased with M&A being the intended use of those funds, therefore 2019 could be the best year to make acquisitions, sell or develop IT businesses.
