Technology acquisition is the new number one driver of M&A pursuits according to the 2018 State of the Deal Report (Deloitte, 2017).
The Digital Media sector in the UK, as reported in 2017, was worth £2,701 billion with a growth rate of 17.5% since 2013 and a predicted further growth of 10% between 2017 and 2022 (Fame, IT Services in the UK, 2018).
The State of the Deal report also suggests that businesses have spending firepower and more companies say their cash levels have increased with M&A being the intended use of those funds, therefore 2019 could be the best year to make acquisitions, sell or develop IT businesses.
A selection of our clients in this sector:
"When we made the decision to sell our business, we understood the process was complex and that we needed the right advice to ensure a successful transaction. The team at FDS were our first port of call and provided an invaluable service, from assessing the initial offer, helping us to refine this, negotiating terms and overseeing the very detailed due diligence process which concluded in a successful deal and in line with the target deadline.
This was made possible through the excellent and positive relations that were developed, knowing that advice from Poonam, Jo and the team was readily and speedily available at all times. The end result was the outcome we wanted and FDS were a major part of the success of this deal. We are grateful to them for the honest, friendly and professional support they offered to us throughout the process and would recommend them to any company looking to explore their exit strategy ."
